Introduction:
Biaxial plastic geogrid is a polymer mesh formed by biaxial stretching. When making biaxial plastic geogrids, generally, the polymer sheet made by extrusion is pre-punched first, and then the biaxial stretching is carried out at an appropriate temperature. Different sizes of pre-punched holes will affect the subsequent stretching process, thereby changing the mechanical properties of the grid.
Material: Typically made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP)
Structure: Consists of a grid of intersecting ribs, usually with square or rectangular openings
Biaxial properties: Reinforcement is strong in two orthogonal directions

What is the difference between uniaxial and biaxial geogrid?
A biaxial geogrid is a bi-directional structure with two-way stretch which provides the same mechanical properties in two directions, both longitudinal and transverse. A uniaxial geogrid is a unidirectional structure with one-way stretch that provides stabilization in one direction only, mainly longitudinal.
Plastic geogrid includes biaxial geogrid and uniaxial geogrid according to its structure. Biaxial polyethylene plastic geogrid is made of polyethylene or high density polyethylene as the main raw material through the processes of hot-melt extrusion, vertical and horizontal stretching to form a high strength reinforced square mesh structure.Plastic biaxial geogrid is widely used to increase the bearing capacity and stabilization of low load bearing soils.
